【TRAVELOKA REVIEW】 BEST FLIGHTS FROM KUALA LUMPUR TO BANGKOK

To me, travel is about a departure into unknown lands to discover the world, to experience, to stuff your eyes with wonder and to impart new vigor to the mind.

“Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain

Instead of looking at the photos on the internet or thinking of how things may be, let's work for it to regulate imagination with reality.

I've been to Hat Yai, a city in Thailand near the Malaysian border when I was at the age of 14 or 15. I don't remember. It was a big family trip, we drove all the way to Kedah from Kuala Lumpur, explored the beautiful small town before heading to Hatyai by bus. It was a wonderful trip.

The next city I wish to visit in Thailand is --- Bangkok!

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a place to wander and imbibe.
The main things to do are fill your stomach with all the delicious Thai food, visit the stunning temples, explore the historic site, and shop till you drop.

To fly from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, it takes only 2 hours+ and you can immerse yourself in the heritage of Thailand and experience the local culture.

How to search the best flights from KL to Bangkok?

Traveloka Malaysia, the One Stop Hotels & Flight Booking Site, has been good to me. I can find the cheapest flights by comparing various airline easily, book the flight ticket and best hotel without hassle. Besides, I can save up more with their latest ongoing flight and hotel promotions.

Let's get back to my next-city-to-visit in Thailand.

Bangkok has a lot of beautiful temples. The temples, known as "wat" in Thai, that I would love to visit are Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Wat Traimit and Wat Mahathat. Besides, there are Wat Saket and the Golden Mount, Wat Benchamabophit and Wat Kalayanamit to visit too.

#MeganTravelTips: Hire a tuk-tuk driver to take you around for the day to see the temples.
#MeganTravelTips: Dress code. Shoulders and legs have to be covered and no slippers are allowed.

Wat Pho
Home to the famous reclining Buddha

.

Wat Arun

Best known temples in Bangkok by the simpler title of the Temple of Dawn

Wat Traimit

Wat Mahathat

Most remarkable and oldest Buddhist temples and home to a meditation center.

Other places to visit are...

Khao San Road

This is a famous backpacker district and popular spot on weekend for the Thais. There are endless bars, guesthouses, food vendors, shops and travelers from every corner of the globe.

Floating Market

Known as "Venice of the East", it's a place to interact with the locals and to buy fresh and delicious foods. The popular floating markets are Khlong Lat Mayom, Thaling Chan and Damnoen Saduak floating markets.

Chinatown

A chaotic vendor-lined street where people gain a few kilograms here. Eat lots of street food and soak yourself in the energetic nightlife.

Bang Pa-In Royal Palace

It's known as The Summer Palace, located 60km north of Bangkok besides Chao Phraya River.

Ayutthaya

A historical park where the relics and Buddha sculptures are mind-blowing.

Dusit Palace

The main structure at Dusit Palace is Vimanmek Mansion. This is the largest golden teakwood house in the world.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

The largest market in Thailand, it has more than 5000 stalls.  Find everything and anything here. From fashion clothing to household items to handicrafts to jewelry and much more. More delicious street foods too.

Night markets

Head to ArtBox Bangkok, Talad Rot Fai, Talad Rot Fai if you're a night hunter.

Chao Phraya River

The most popular and main river of Bangkok.

Lumpini Park

A place to get rid of the traffic and chaos of Bangkok to enjoy fresh air and nature.

Jim Thompson House
A historical building and museum to learn about Thai Silk history, it is a home of "self-made American entrepreneur.
Grand Palace
It has been the residence of Kings.

And the things that I would love to do...

Shopping

People would say you won't leave Bangkok without shopping. Most of my friends came back with almost one full luggage of clothing, junk food and miscellaneous. Platinum Fashion Mall in Pratunam is popular for budget shopping. Besides, there are many luxury malls such as Siam Paragon, EmQuartier, Central Embassy, and Emporium.

Massage & Spa

This is a must-do-thing after a long day. Get a cheap foot massage or enjoy a traditional Thai body massage.

Cafe Hopping
In addition, there are so many new themed cafes in Bangkok. Would check out the most popular cafe area, Thonglor and Ari.

Tuk-Tuk Ride

The iconic three-wheeled vehicle was the main mode of transport in the past.
Tips: They do not have meters, need to bargain with the drivers on the price.
Can't wait to explore another city/place!
