DAY 3: Cingjing Farm - Carton King - Fengjia Night Market 清境 - 清境青青草原區 - 紙箱王 - 逢甲夜市

Cingjing, the first thing that came across my mind was “sheep”.

TRANSPORTATION

I was struggling which was the best way to travel from Cingjing to Taichung as that was our next destination. The owner gave us a clearer picture of the transportation fare and we decided to get our driver to send us to Taichung.

Option 1: Nantou Bus (NT265 / way) + Taxi to our homestay

Option 2: Private chartered car - from Cingjing to Taichung homestay (NT2000)

BAGGAGE STORAGE

Our driver dropped us at the baggage storage area nearby Qingjing Farm. Storing your luggage here is FREE OF CHARGE.

WHAT CAN YOU DO HERE?

Cingjing Farm / Green Green Grassland

Admission Fee: NT160 (adult) NT120 (student)

Green Green Grassland is located in the northern section of Qingjing Farm. It is an open pasture ground for the sheep to roam and graze freely. Visitors are able to see the sheep up close and interact with them.

Horse Riding Show

Admission Fee: Free of charge

Duration: 30mins

Time: 10.45am & 3.45pm

Located near to Guanshan Pasture nearby Southgate of Cingjing Farm, visitors are allowed to sit in and enjoy the equestrian riding and acrobat show. The acrobats are highly skilled rider and they are originally from Mongolia.

Carton King

Admission Fee: Free of charge

A mind-blowing wonderland full of imagination and creativity. Almost everything seen in the shop and restaurant is made with corrugated paper.

Small Swiss Garden

Admission Fee: NT120 (adult) NT90 (student)

The “Taiwan’s Little Switzerland” gives the beautiful Northern European atmosphere. Visit at dawn to enjoy the paradise in the mist when misty clouds started floating down from the mountains. We skipped this attraction because we will be going to Zhong She Flower Market in Taichung.

We spent 4 hours (9am - 1pm) here, visited only a few main attractions. If you have more time or a full day in Cingjing, there are also other feature attractions you may want to visit such as Cingjing Skywalk, Guest House Vererans Museum & Bowang New Village, Sheep Sheering Show, Biological Experience Garden, Hiking (Guangshan Trail, Bu Bu Gao Sheng Trail, Shoushan Park, Sunset Trail, Cryptomerial Trail, Sakura Trail) and Magnificient Green Lake Scenery of the Wushoh Dam.

FOOD

Mos Burger, 7-11, Starbucks, Food stores and restaurants are available around Cingjing Farm.

甕仔雞!! ( I don't know how to read it), it's a roasted chicken famous, you'll probably see it everywhere while on your way up or down from Cingjing. Besides, Angelica (vegetable) can also be found everywhere in Cingjing.

Highly recommended!! This is the best meal I ever had in Taiwan. We requested to stop here for a quick lunch before heading to Taichung. Ordered a Roasted Chicken and Angelica Eggs. We had a hard time and felt to gross tearing the whole chicken apart. Hahaha... Definitely worth the effort, the roasted chicken was so SO good!!
