【MACAU 澳門】 BUDGET HOTEL: OLE LONDON HOTEL 奥莱英京

I was staying in Grand Lapa Macau 金麗華酒店 together with my family for the first few days before they went back to Malaysia. On the last day, I booked a budget hotel for myself to stay another night.



Grand Lapa Macau 金麗華酒店 is a 5-star hotel. About RM600+ per night for a Twin Bed Room. The lobby looks grand and the room was pretty comfortable. Buffet breakfast was provided. The hotel has its own casino too. We were satisfied with the services and rooms. This hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Macau Fisherman's Wharf and 3 km from the Ruins of St Paul's or Senado Square. Pretty good location. I'm not going to focus on this hotel in this post because my family arrived before me, the room was already in a big mess when I arrived, couldn't take any photos of it.

#megantraveltips There's no Free Shuttle bus between Macau Airport and Grand Lapa Macau, but they have a free shuttle to Macau Ferry Terminal. If you're planning to take a cab, remember to tell the name of the hotel in Cantonese, "gam lai wa zao dim" 金麗華酒店. Else, no one understands. And if you're planning to take a bus, stop at Avenida Da Amizade/ Flyover bus stop. It's just a few minutes walk away from the hotel.

For public bus from Macau Airport to Grand Lapa Hotel, take bus AP1, 3rd stops. Bus fare is MOP 6.

Budget Hotel - Ole London Hotel 奥莱英京

I was looking for a decent hotel at a reasonable price as I needed to stay just for a night. This was my first time staying alone in the hotel so I hope the hotel/place is safe. Haha! Been scrolling through Agoda and Booking.com for a few days, decided to choose Ole London Hotel because overall feedback for the room and services were okay. 

Ole London Hotel is a 3-star hotel, don't expect for a beautiful room. The room is small and just enough for one queen bed, one side table, and a small toilet. Toiletries and towel were provided. I personally think that it's good enough for a night stay, at least the room and toilet is clean!

I spent my night watching Hong Kong Pageant 2018 live in my hotel room. Luckily they have a few good channels to keep me entertained.

WiFi

Yes, Free WiFi. The connection is unstable.

Location

Ole London Hotel is located in a very good location - the Historic Center of Macau. It's just a few minutes away from the popular attractions like Senado Square, St Paul Church, and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (known as San Ma Lo) which is Macau's commercial center. If you're planning to go to Hong Kong, take a cab to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, it's just 10 minutes drive away.

There are alleys everywhere as if I was in a maze. It took me more than 30 minutes to walk from Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (San Ma Lo) station to Ole London Hotel because I got lost in the commercial center. It's actually very VERY near, 5 minutes walk!  *facepalm* I suck at looking at the map. The alleys are dark and quiet at night, I felt a little unsafe while walking alone to and from Senado Square.

Most of the budget hotels such as Sun Sun Hotel Macau, Ole Tai Sam Un Hotel and etc are all nearby. If you're looking for a hotel with good location, they are all the same. Your main concern should be the room and services.

How to get there by bus?

Stop at Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (San Ma Lo) station. Walk into the commercial area and look for your hotel by using Google Map or ask around.
